A performance based on two exceptional texts from the period of the Greek Revolution, that brings about the atmosphere and the ethos of their time. The former was written by a woman and focuses on the Revolution itself. It is the seminal work “NIKERATOS” (1826) by Evanthia Kairi. The second piece was written by a man. It is «GYNECOCRACY»(1841) by D. K. Vyzantios which focuses on the position and perception of women in post-Revolutionary Greece, as the newly established Greek nation itself fumbles in search of an identity, choosing to emulate European standards of the time.
